Help Us Tell Dayton’s LGBTQ Her/History

As part of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, we’re working as part of a collaborative community effort to capture important local stories about pivotal people, places and events in the Dayton area LGBTQ+ her/history. We are also collecting local LGBTQ-related memorabilia to display at the downtown Dayton Metro Library during LGBTQ History Month in October. We will share some of the stories with StoryCorps as part of their Stonewall OutLoud project. If you have a story or important information to share about our local herstory and history over the last 50 years, email us at have all the equipment and apps to professionally record your stories . . . .all you’ll need to do is talk and tell us your story! #stonewalloutloud

If you have memorabilia you would like to donate, please e-mail us. All of the stories and memorabilia will be professionally archived at Wright State University, Dayton Metro Library and the Greater Dayton LGBT Center so that future generations can understand the sacrifices that have been made to help make their lives, our community and the world a more affirming place for LGBTQ people.
