Don’t miss this first-ever Ohio conference focused on LGBT aging right here in Dayton! Rainbow Elder Care is collaborating with United Church Homes senior living communities, the Area Agency on Aging PSA2, and faculty from Wright State and Miami, to bring you two days of learning, affirmation and celebration of our journey toward equality and dignity. The LGBT Horizons of Aging Summit on Feb. 11 and 12 will feature several prominent speakers, including Stu Maddox, award-winning producer of the film Gen Silent, as well as Dr. Nii-Quartelai Quartey, national leader of LGBT initiatives for AARP, and Dr. Jason Flatt, researcher from University of California San Francisco.
We’re offering 16 different breakout sessions on topics including: culturally competent LGBT care/service, affordable senior living, transgender aging, Social Security issues you need to know, the latest state and national legal landscape, hospice care for LGBT individuals, intergenerational panel discussions and more. Click here for detailed information about the breakout sessions. We’ll even have visits from the Rubi Girls and the Dayton Gay Men’s Chorus!
You can attend both days for as little as $20 per day including breakfast and lunch. Nurses, social workers and others who need continuing education credits pay a higher but affordable fee with an early-bird discount if you register by Dec. 31. We’re also offering an economical hotel rate with the Crowne Plaza. Come learn and celebrate our journey!
